Another reason to be proud of Cape Town is the superb cricket stadium at Newlands, which is to be the venue of the Proteas when they face the Australians in their first ODI test against Australia with World Cup Winning Coach Gary Kirsten at the helm.
A lot has been said about the Proteas being "Chokers" in international tournaments, but now things are differnet, as they have the auspicious experience and leadership of the immanently qualified Gary Kirsten (a former team mate, who went on to coach the Indian National Team to glory in the recent 2010 ICC Cricket World Cup).
As South Africans, we must put our pride on our shirts and give the Coach, Gary Kirsten, the chance to mould the Proteas according to the knowledge that he gained in the 2010 Cricket World Cup. We have got to stop the incessant backbiting, public undermining and unpatriotic abusive comments that we regularly level and fire at South African National Team Coaches (i.e. the Springboks, Bafanan Bafana, Hockey team and the Olympic teams). The vitriolic brow-bashing of the Coaches and the team-members has to stop if we are to call ourselves truly Proud South Africans...
So, come on! Man Up! Pin your hearts to your shirt-sleeves! Stand up, as Patriotic South Africans! And shout "Shosholoza"!
Proudly Capetonian
Celebrating everything that is great about Cape town and It's People.
What It's All About...
This site is about how great Cape Town is and how wonderful the people really can be if they try.
We have all encountered people, who for lack of knowledge, behave in an insensitive and callous manner towards others... Rarely, we come upon those people who have overcome their own selfish behaviour to percieve how interacting equally with others can benefit them much more!
The Blog is about all the funny, cool and interesting things that I regularly discover where someone or something really makes me proud of Cape Town.

It's a city for all seasons
This is one seriously amazing thing about Cape Town, as you can experience all four seasons in one day, depending on where you are and travelling just fifty kilometers can put you in a whole different season altogether!
Sometimes just travelling ten kilometers can take you from summer right into winter...
Rarely is there really a bad day, as somewhere you should be able to find a season that you like. If it's raining in Sea Point then you can go to Hout Bay or False Bay. If these don't work, then you can go to Gordon's Bay or inland to Belleville.
And even then, you can also go and visit Stellenbosch, Paarl or Franschhoek, which are on the start of the Wine Route or Garden Route and provide you with that authentic Western Cape experience. It is also the Mother City of the whole country, as it was originally here that the first European settlement was placed.
